女性尿道综合征的病因病机与湿热有关,肝郁和湿热是尿道综合征的始动因素;脉络瘀阻是病变发展的重要病理环节;肾虚是尿道综合征之顽固不愈的原因所在。脾虚是本病发生、发展的内在基础。病机特点为正虚邪恋,病势缠绵。
在中医，认为它亦属淋证范畴，其病机重点在于：肝气郁滞、气机不畅;肝血不足，心神不宁;气阴两虚;并同时兼有下焦湿热郁阻。
1、肝气郁结：以小腹拘急、小便不适、尿频、胸胁胀满、情绪低落、精神抑郁、脉弦为主症。
2、心神不宁：以心烦、失眠、尿频、口干、脉细数为主症。
3、阴虚兼湿热：以手足心热、口干渴、烦躁或盗汗、舌红为主症。
4、气阴两虚：多见于体弱或日久耗气伤阴者。
尿道综合征的原因有多种，医治方法略有差别。有部分人是由于紧张、焦虑、多疑、内向等心理状态造成，可因生育、性交及妇科疾病而加重，治疗上应区别对待。
