尿道综合征容易反复发作，如果只重治疗而忽视预防，就难以治疗。专家建议，患者在接受治疗的同时，采取一系列预防措施，以强化和巩固治疗效果。
1. 多喝水，少憋尿。
排尿不但是排毒的重要环节，还对防治尿路感染有重要意义。专家解释道，人的尿道口，有很多细菌寄居，有些细菌还可能进入膀胱，累积到一定数量后就可能诱发感染。之所以多数人不会发生尿路感染，主要就是因为排尿避免了细菌的过度滋生。
2. 多走动，少久坐。
研究表明，“久坐人群”患尿路感染、慢性前列腺炎等疾病的比例要高于其他人群。对女性来说，久坐的习惯会使外阴长时间处于潮湿闷热的状态，泌尿系统周围 细菌的滋生和繁殖会加快。对男性来说，久坐容易使盆腔充血，导致前列腺血液循环不畅，诱发前列腺炎，而前列腺炎又容易诱发尿路感染。
3.多清淡，少刺激。
防治尿路感染，在饮食上较好多吃些清淡、富含水分的食物，如西瓜、黄瓜等新鲜蔬果，还可以多喝些汤汤水水，如荠菜汤、冬瓜汤等。
