尿道综合征在任何年龄均可发生，发生率很高，多见于已婚中青年女性具体流行病学统计资料，未见详尽报道。该病的病理基础是女性膀胱尿道功能障碍，因此，除具有尿路感染症状外，还可有里急后重、膀胱排空后尿道酸痛等症状，严重者可伴有终末血尿和压力性尿失禁等现象。护理尿道综合征的注意事项有：
1.保持局部干燥卫生，勤洗澡。避免因尿频、尿急、尿失禁诱发炎症和湿疹。
2.饮食上少吃辛辣食品。
3.大量饮水，每天至少2000毫升左右，多喝水后，排尿次数增多，大量尿液的排出可将泌尿道里的细菌冲出体外，因怕尿频、尿急而不喝水的做法是不妥当的。
4.下腹部及膀胱区域进行热敷，或洗热水浴及热水坐浴，目的是加速下泌尿道的血液循环，控制炎症和缓解症状。
5.禁止房事，生病期间停止房事，以免进一步加重病情。
