尿道综合征包括尿频、尿急、尿痛。尿频指单位时间内排尿次数明显增加。尿急指一有尿意即要排尿，不能控制。尿痛指排尿时膀胱区及尿道受刺激产生疼痛或烧灼感。主要原因为尿路感染，急性期表现更明显;非感染性炎症也可导致，包括理化因素(环磷酰胺、射线等)、肿瘤和异物对膀胱粘膜的刺激等。快速确诊尿道综合征可以通过下列方法判断：
1、脓尿或尿白细胞增加，尿细菌培养阳性且数量达到感染性诊断指标。
2、顽固性感染性尿路刺激征。
3、伴明显血尿 排除结石。
4、妇女顽固尿路刺激征。
5、尿道综合征多见于妇女，非特异性非细菌性感染、精神紧张、膀胱括约肌松弛不协调、对化学物质的过敏(避孕药、尼龙裤袜等)。
除尿频外，同时伴有尿急、尿痛，尿常规可见白细胞和脓细胞增多，尿培养可有细菌生长，或伴有腰痛、发热等，所以容易诊断。
